CrossFit 858 Location 3

To the members of CrossFit Elysium (soon to be CrossFit 858):

Nearly 7 months ago, I found myself in the position to take over the reins of the gym where I got my start many years ago: CrossFit Mission Gorge.   The box, one of the originals in the San Diego scene, was in a rebuilding state. The athletes of CFMG were looking for consistency after a period of transition.  They wanted to not only have a place to train, but a place to call home.  A true CrossFit gym where they could see their friends, fellow athletes, and second family.

I’m pleased to say that over the past 7 months, my team and I have worked to meet the athletes’ needs and then take CrossFit 858 Mission Gorge beyond their highest expectations.  This was accomplished through solid quality coaching, improved operations focusing on the members’ overall satisfaction driven experience, and building a strong community.  Essentially, running a CrossFit gym the way it should be.

I find myself standing before you today ready to repeat history, now with your box, your home.

I do not take this task lightly as I know how important your CrossFit gym is to you.  As any good CrossFit gym should be, it’s a place where literally blood sweat and tears are shed, and unbreakable bonds are formed.

I will not elaborate here on my philosophies on how I run my businesses in this post, but let a previous blog post speak for me once again.  I posted this on the 4 year anniversary of our Miramar location and on the eve of the takeover of the Mission Gorge location.  Please read this if you want to catch a glimpse inside my mind: http://www.crossfit858.com/2015/08/4-yearsspecial-announcement/

As this post follow Dr. Leon Chang’s announcement of the handover, I want to thank Leon for his kind words, his friendship, and his trust in me that I will take care of the business that he helped to start.

This is a tremendous opportunity offered to me professionally and personally, one which I fully intend on seizing.  I plan on taking this gym to the next level.  As I told the Elysium staff in a meeting last night, I recognize that the success of this box depends on YOU.  “You” being defined as the athletes which are the lifeblood of the gym and the coaching staff, the brainstem of the gym.

Some of you I know already from the San Diego CrossFit community, some I’ve had as previous members at the 858 gyms.  For those of you who we haven’t met, I invite you to research us as much as you want.  Check out our reviews, read the other blog entries on the site, talk to our existing members, or reach out to me directly.  I’m always accessible and responsive.

Furthermore, I invite you to join me at an info session at 7pm Monday night March 14, 2016 at the current CrossFit Elysium/future CrossFit 858. (Specific name, TBD pending CrossFit HQ approval).

All current members of Elysium, past members, and current members of CrossFit 858 are invited.

Here you will have an opportunity to meet me and my staff, hear what we have planned for you, and most importantly meet some of your new extended family.  Your existing coaching staff has now grown by over 21 additional qualified coaches, and your fellow athlete family has also grown exponentially.

I am beyond excited for the future, to see familiar faces, to meet new ones, to hear your thoughts and answer any questions you may have.

Thank you and see you soon.
