Left Coast Rumble: TEAMS REGISTRATION IS OPEN!!

Last November, we put on our first formal competition, The Left Coast Rumble.  It was designed to be a “throwback” to the old school competitions and throwdowns that were much more intimate and intense.

We saw 75 athletes from 3 different boxes come together, throwdown, and forge new friendships.

This June, we are doing it all over again.

Details:

  • Competition is open to teams from ALL gyms
  • Teams of 3, SAME gender
  • Men’s and Women’s Rx and SCALED levels available
  • “Specialists” for each team are highly recommended, but not required.  You will want:
    • Someone with a lifting bias
    • Someone with a gymnastics bias
    • An all around athlete
  • Strategy will be needed
  • All but one event will be announced before the event, as the event approaches (Movement criteria are below)
  • Left Coast Rumble: Teams will be held at CrossFit 858 Mission Gorge MIRAMAR on Saturday June 17, 2017
    • 8am check in
  • Spectators are welcome, no charge

Movement standards

For Rx Teams:

AT LEAST ONE MEMBER must be able to do ONE (not all) of the following.  Conversely, if you have NO members of your team that can do one or more of these movements, do not go RX:

  • Squat Clean (205/145)
  • Burpee Box Jumps (24/20)
  • Deadlift over (365/255)
  • Chest to Bar Pullups
  • Double Unders
  • Shoulder to Overhead w/Barbell (115/75)
  • HSPU
  • Power Snatch or Snatch (95/65)
  • Ring Muscle Ups

For SCALED Teams:

AT LEAST ONE MEMBER must be able to do ONE (not all) of the following:

  • Single Skips on the rope
  • Ring Rows
  • Shoulder to Overhead w/Barbell (95/65)
  • Strict Press (95/65)
  • Burpee Box Step Overs (24/20)
  • Deadlift over (275/195)
  • Any style UNASSISTED chin over bar pullup/chinup
  • Power Snatch or Snatch (95/65)
  • Squat Clean (155/105)

Workouts

Event 1a and 1b: “Divide and conquer” 16 total minutes
1a: 12 min cap. Only 2 working at a time of (1 resting at any given moment):
125 C2B pullups (1 person working and other needs to be hanging)
125 Double Unders
120 Synchronized S2O (115/75)
125 Double Unders

1b: Minutes 12-16:
Achieve highest Max Snatch from any team member

Scaled Event 1a and 1b 16 total minutes

1a: 12 min cap. Only 2 working at a time of (1 resting at any given moment):
100 Ring Rows (1 person working and other needs to be hanging)
300 Singles
100 Synchronized S2O (95/65)
300 Singles

1b: Minutes 12-16:
Achieve highest Max Snatch from any team member

Event 2: “Please Puke Outside”

Max Burpee Box Jump Overs (24/20) in 7min

  • 1 person working at a time, tag in any teammate
  • Before they are able to get to the burpee box jumps, each person must do an one time Assault Bike buy in (40/30 cal)

Scaled Event 2: “Please Puke Outside”

Max Burpee Box Step Overs (24/20) in 7min

  • 1 person working at a time, tag in any teammate
  • Before they are able to get to the burpee box jumps, each person must do an one time Assault Bike buy in (30/24 cal)

Event 3: “Team Kong”*
AMRAP 9 min
3 Deadlifts (365/255)
6 Ring Muscle Ups
9 Squat Cleans (205/145)
12 HSPU

How to Register:

To complete registration, BOTH steps 1 and 2 must be completed

Costs:

  • Registration is $210 per team.
  • LIMITED SPOTS are available, so register NOW!!
  • All entry fees are FINAL.  No refunds allowed but substitutions will be ok
