How long have you been doing CrossFit?

I’ve been doing CrossFit, consistently, for 6 months.

What got you hooked on CrossFit?

I’ve always been a part of a team sport, in one way or another, so to grind, compete, and grow together is where I feel comfortable and myself.

What is your favorite movement?

Power cleans are my favorite movement, Double unders are a close second and now that I’ve been improving on kipping pullups those come in third.

Do you have any current goals you are trying to attain?

My main goal right now is to get stronger and my smaller goal is to fine-tune all movements, there’s always something to learn.

Do you have any advice for someone starting out in CrossFit?

My advice for anyone new to CrossFit is to be patient.  There’s going to be a lot of new movements and nomenclature thrown at them but one day it will all start falling into place.

Fun Fact:

Pretty much do anything to make you laugh.

Ben Nunez

Ben has seen amazing progress since he started with us. His most recent accomplishment- a 50lb weight loss- comes from him being consistent with his training and nutrition! Ben’s motivation to work hard and be healthy stems from his desire to be a positive role model to his children. Keep up the hard work, Ben!

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

I’ve been doing CrossFit since my family moved to San Diego a little over a year ago.

What got you hooked on CrossFit?

The various workouts and being pushed to the limits everyday got me hooked and watching the competitions on TV.

What is your favorite movement?

One of my favorite movements would have to be the PushPress.

Do you have any current goals you are trying to attain?

A goal of mine is to gain more flexibility with my movements and set an example of healthy living for my boys.

Do you have any advice for someone starting out in CrossFit?

Growing up as an athlete, CrossFit workouts are a completely different form of training than I’m used to and it pushes me more and more each day. My advice to someone starting out in CrossFit would be to go into it with an open mind and give it a solid try, don’t quit on the first day because it can be intimidating.

Fun Fact:

I’m one of two sets of twins in my family and am expecting my third son in the next few weeks!
