Recap and Summary of Town Hall at CrossFit 858 Mission Gorge

Thank you again for the many in attendance this past Monday night.  We counted close to 100 of you who came out.

I also realize many of you wanted to come, but could not and have unanswered questions.

Before I get into the key points and logistical points, I want to reiterate my commitment, drive, and dedication to CrossFit 858 Mission Gorge.

There is a very strong, resilient community here that will continue to grow.

I may be the owner, but as I stated in my previous blog post about things I’ve learned as affiliate owner, the community is it’s own living entity.  There should never be one person that defines the community, owner, coach, nor athlete.  This is a community that is not defined by any one person, but one that has a voice of it’s own.

I promise to lead the community and nurture its growth and development into something greater than it has ever been.  And I’ll do this by always striving to do the right thing, in business and personal interactions.

I’m uploading the town hall, in two parts.  Some parts may be a bit hard to hear, so turn up the volume.

Overall Points:

  • One membership gives two locations to choose from: Miramar and Mission Gorge
  • New Equipment has arrived, and more on the way, allowing for dynamic programming
  • Functional and aesthetic improvements are coming: gym facelift, wood lifting panels
  • Community based decisions:  No decision is arbitrarily made.  The community decides what it wants

Logistical Changes

  • Sign in during arrival to Mindbody to help membership tracking
  • 7:30am classes are added, M-F
  • Open gym!!!  Open gym is allowed during ALL classes and designated Open Gym times are Weds: 7-8pm, Saturday 10am-11am, Sunday 10am-12pm(formerly 9-12)
  • Womens class is shifted to 9:30-10:30am, M,W,F

Coaching

  • Quality coaches with multiple certifications CLICK HERE to see full roster
  • Years of experience
  • Games and Affiliate ownership experience
  • Bigger classes will have TWO coaches: One lead, one assistant to ensure all athletes receive the service they pay for

Pricing

  • ALL memberships are grandfathered* in for current and returning members:  Whether you are a charter member or had a paid in advance membership, you will always have the same price point- EVEN IF YOU HAVE LEFT AND WANT TO COME BACK!!!!!!!!
  • $170 month to month has been reduced to $159.99
  • Student and LEO discounts 10%
  • Military discounts stay and expand to spouses as well now
  • Special pricing for SDSU students:
    • $160 is now $120 for Month to Month
    • $150 is now $110 for 6 Month
    • $130 is now $99 12 month

*”Grandfathered Rates” pertain to membership rates and/or paid in full arrangements.  They do not apply to temporary specials/sales

We are not here simply to restore the gym.
