August 2016 marks the FIVE year anniversary of CrossFit 858 Miramar and the one year anniversary of the CrossFit 858 Mission Gorge acquisition!
To celebrate, we are having a potluck style family friendly cookout at Miramar……..
….. but wait, we’ve done that before.
We are talking about 5 years of successful business and 1 year since a very emotional and monumental take over! We need to go bigger on the celebrations. So here is the agenda, which starts with Friday night, August 26th, and goes into early Sunday August 28th…
On our SugarWOD app, one of our members Andrea Green made a comment recently that gave me an idea. It was after a workout where we dubbed it “Fran Training”. Here’s the comment:
“Fran” is THE CrossFit benchmark. Feared by many, loved by just as many it’s the CrossFit version of the Globo gym question “What do you bench?” We are also exactly 6 months away from the CrossFit Open with those magical throwdown Friday nights that bring people together and push our limits with the entire gym cheering each other on.
What better way to kick off our anniversary weekend by combining those elements into…..
“Fran Friday Night Lights”
Yes you heard right. We are starting off with Fran Friday Night Lights at Miramar, Friday Night August 26th at 6pm. We will go in heats until we are done and ALL athletes are invited to attend.
Addition to Saturday at Miramar: We will be holding the memorial WOD for SDPD Officer “JD” DeGuzman! This will be open and free to all! This partner workout will occur from 8-10am at Miramar, all other locations will be closed.
We will have the family friendly cookout that starts at 11am and will last until 2pm. This will be kid friendly and potluck style! There will be no classes at that time.
But wait, there’s more……..
Saturday night, for 5 hours, we are renting a CrossFit 858 PARTY BUS!!! We will be taking a tour of all the breweries in San Diego as we party on the bus in between stops! I am paying for half the cost of the bus and will ask whoever is coming (limited to members only for now) to pay $15/person. The busses will also be BYOB so bring something that you want to drink, to share! There is an online google sign up form located HERE: https://goo.gl/forms/KbzEA2t6Z8cWpklE3 The bus is limited to 50 people and will have spacious seating and a pole in case you want to practice acrobatics or need something to hang on to while the bus is in motion! Specific locations TBD.
